Hmm.. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the concept of 'List Price', but basically that's the manufacturer recommended retail price.

they value it at a lower cost of the net reliasable value due to the prudence concept so that they would not understate/overstate their net or gross profit.

It's a marketing concept, it's kinda hard to explain, at least I'm unable to explain it to ya! Always zao lectures those days.. haha. You gotta read it and see if it makes sense to ya.
