HEY guys,i need some help here.Currently my band got a request from our teachers to perform for teacher's day.The thing is,the stage surrounding is big and there are curtains....(most of you know the how big school stage are right with the curtains and all)The problem is now,we only have 10 watt amps on our hands!IS there, anyway that i can maximize the volume of the amp??I'm using a marshall MG10CD(yeah i know this is a practice amp but i'm well broke and this was a last minute call!) and i really need everybody's tips and advise all.All know is that my friend told me to put a condenser mic in front of the amp but he didn't elaborate about it(DARN HIM!)Please reply as soon as possible!our performance is on monday!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!

my suggestion

seriously man,

if you cant get big amps, see who has, you might be surprised what the school band room has, they might have a keyboard amp which might do the trick.

or... you can place the amps way up infront, of course you wont hear your guitars but dont put them with the drums or the drums will drown everything out.

you can also, use mikes(with mike stands of course!) and place them in front of the amps, hopefully it will pick up, cos i doubt your school will have condenser mikes, and well knowing most school hall systems and acoustics your sound will be drowned out.

my last suggestion? just go acoustic, you can mike up the guitars and its going to be so much easier to work with.

hmm

Hey,thanks there!but my band will be playing 'that thing you do' by the wonders and my cousin preferred it to be distorted rather than playing it clean for guitars..and yeah i will try to ask my classmates who are from the B band whether they have the keyboards and stuff. And my teachers are cruel!they won't let us play modern songs..my friend asked whether we could play 21 guns by green day and they said no!Instead they want something classic from the beatles era...well i know A LOT of easy songs by the beatles but my bandmates were not interested with it and opted for Hotel California instead.Still, they rejected it!And now we have to play 'that thing you do' by the wonders..haha..although they weren't from the 60's era, they still sound beatlesque.
