according to the post the double bag won't be in for a few months. even the mono site doesn't list the double bag on their products page, which either speaks of lousy web updates or that they haven't launched it for retail yet.
but i've got my eye on one of em double bags. i've got the strap and its by far the most solidly built piece of gear i've ever had. will pick up the single bag when its in and put it through its paces... my current gig bag is great but i sure could use the extra padding and protection, plus the extra compartments, since i tend to take my guitars all over the place.
IMHO though, the double bags that i've tried - Gator, Ritter - are all not up to scratch. the Gator case is just poorly thought out - ONE strap only?? plus it couldn't hold up to the weight of my two guitars (usually an Les Paul and a Tele).
Ritter didn't fare any better. special-ordered the case from the local distributor (emailed ritter direct and they routed to the local distributor) and paid a pretty penny for it. the moment i received the item i was disappointed - it was so flimsy! From the pictures i'd expected something heavier and more solidly built. i was quite sure the case would give way soon... and it happened not less than a couple of months after i received it! one side of the case tore under the stress of carrying my LP & tele.
I emailed Ritter direct to voice my feedback and displeasure and their COO personally replied saying that I could return the bag for a refund or replacement. I chose the refund (since i wasn't going to wait for a replacement) - but the local distributor refused to honour the COO's reply. have long since given up trying to get a replacement and mended the tear with some heavy duty stitching. that seemed to work, but now the rest of the case is starting to tear... straps are tearing... and these are not stress tears, since they aren't under stress when the bag is being carried around. very weird. and disappointing.
Ritter = fantastic customer service, but bloody awful products. they've been going downhill since they stopped making the heavy-duty gigbags.
The mono cases look extremely well thought out... and a good option for those of us who can't get incases in our neck of the woods. cant wait to get one
