Upgrades on a Squier Telecaster

Hi people,

I currently have a Squier Affinity Telecaster (Manufactured quite long ago, like about 7 years).

I'm wondering if would it be worth it to spend the money to upgrade the parts (bridge, control plates, knobs, pots, pickups, and the neck) or is it better to invest in something better like a Fender Japan tele?

Please give me some ideas cos i'm kinda stuck on this >:

Well, i think you should ask yourself if you like your guitar. Will you still want to continue using it? I have a lespaul copy which i love a lot because it has a lot of sentimental value to me and i want to continue performing with it. However, I also wanted better quality parts/hardware. You catch the drift

Go down to a shop and test out a Japan tele. Then ask yourself if you see this Japan tele replacing your current tele because i can tell you, the build quality is going to be vastly different from your current squier (Japan Fenders are ICHIBAN!).

Hmm actually i bought it out of impulse a few months ago and didn't have enough time consider what I wanted to do with it. Sentimental value, i guess not but I have the thought of keeping it for collection and probably use it while I'm saving up for others..

I've tested a Japan Tele before and it feels good, of course. But it would cost quite a bit.

For the Squier I've roughly calculated the total cost to upgrade and it's like about 400-500 SGD, which I do not know if it's worth it or not.. I'll probably have to replace the bridge, control plate, knobs, pickups and maybe the neck too... >:

I KNOW YOUR FEEL!

Basically, I had a pretty looking tele body, liked the way it felt, didn't really care so much for the telecaster sound, so I made this

the haters told me at first it wouldn't be worth it, it'll sound bad and all that shit. But now it flat out beats a lot of other guitars i put it against. Its a gamble though!
I've now got a a pretty perfect (to me) guitar, one of a kind too!!

That is one nice looking tele! Teles are the best shapes IMO (except for PRS) hehe.

+1 to Tele mods. mine isn't a Fender/Squier but it's one in that image. i only have a single humbucker in there...
