Whoa bra, someone give this guy a tangerine
Your definitely going down in the hardcore history books man.
Anyway, to disappoint you, Fugazi WERE huge. They sold 200,000+ records on an Indie label in 1991.
Underrated music for me, would be Psychobilly cause Psychobilly requires having pretty skilled musicians, with the ability to rock a Gretsch Nashville or any of the Falcon series, able to slap a King Custom Double Bass (
www.kingdoublebass.com) and play on a Slingerland Session Drum Kit.
Psychobilly was brought about just having fun, with punk ethos fused with rockabilly, 60s horror movies and just rad hair (it's called a Quiff not Queef which is a taboo for v*ginal flatulence.) No punk rock politics here as psychobilly music and culture was started as a protest against POLITICAL CHARGED punk rock. So no Asean Summit in these headlines. And for all you scene heads, it started in England too. And is Huge in Europe.
So please do check out any psychobilly bands such as Mad Sin, Demented Are Go, The Klingonz, Reverend Horton Heat(more rockabilly), Koffin Cats, Batmobile, The Meteors(one of the first band to start psychobilly), Creepshow, Necromantix, Horrorpops, Tiger Army, King Kurt, The Quakes and more. Do the right thing and wikipedia psychobilly for more info.
While you at it, go check out Horrorpunk, Deathrock (not death metal you *****), Folk Metal, Art Punk, Gothabilly, Neo-folk and all this crazy stuff you can find lurking at a European Fest and no one here has even bothered to start a scene or small something with all this crazy stuff. Hope this gives you some insight into dressing up like Good Charlotte and Bloc Party.
Well yeah that's my most underrated stuff.
