Tool? eventhough they are getting coverage from time to time..they are not overrated..and neither are they popular(as in gets frequent airplay) the only reason they are mentioned quite alot now is because of their latest album...then they disappear again :P

Wolfmother? i still dun think they're that popular..i mean,u dun hear Wolfmother being played in Singapore radio

Foo Fighters..:P well,that was a joke la

Queens of The Stone Age are pretty underrated..
Pearl Jam too

PS dun u think wolf mother a bit annoying? WOMANNNNNNNNNNNN

Andrew of Wolfmother is as irritating as Ozzy's vox..and considering i'm a follower of Black Sabbath...i think its music to my ears :P

yeah! i'm looking forward to the next NIN album too..Trent has said quite alot about it...said its as good as downward spiral

goody goody!

Well my take is:

mewithoutyou - Huge in America and Europe. American Indie music

Anathallo - Great DIY Indie band, huge in US

Zao - Pioneers of the Crossover breakthrough, huge in US and Europe

The Futureheads - Have not seen them catching on with the local British Indie listening folk

Blindside - Swedish Alternative Rock/ Hardcore popular in US and Europe

Misery Signals - Great for the metalcore loving folk.

Journey is a seriously underrated band. just because they were part of the 80s arena rock circuit and most people only know them for their ballads like Send Her My Love and Faithfully (does anyone else miss the days when playing these songs were enough to get a chick into bed with you?) most overlook them as another cheesy 80s band. but Journey is anything but cheesy. they're comprised of some of the most accomplished musicians around.

Steve Perry - the voice. i really hate it everytime someone tries to butcher Open Arms on American or Singapore Idol. none of them can make it.

Neal Schon - in the same way Steve Vai came up under Frank Zappa, Neal came up under Carlos Santana. an incredibly talented and underrated guitarist just because he's not flashy or a virtuoso, though he can if he wants to. but he's much too soulful for that. just listen to the guitar work on the song Lights and tell me it doesn't make you feel all happy and tingly inside.

Jonathan Cain - IMO one of the best rock keyboard players and composers

Ross Valory - another very underrated member of the band. he's got some of the best basslines ever. just check out Only The Young or the Raised on Radio album.

Steve Smith - drummers, you know this guy is a god of drums.

not to forget founding ex-members Greg Rollie and Ansley Dunbar who made some of the coolest progressive 70s rock music on the first 3 Journey albums, before Steve Perry joined and brought the band into the mainstream. think Genesis and early Scorpions.

^ yeah man! they din get the time to fully emerge coz of the abrupt Nirvana death...=_= which brought along almost all the 90s rock bands...

and about Journey...yeah man..i agree to that statement! :D

Jawbreaker - Their major label debut Dear You tanked badly even though it was freaking brilliant. They broke up soon after, such a waste. It's still one of my favorite albums.
