Tweaking Effects.

Hey fellows...

What can I do to cut the ringing after picking each note during Soloing...

I plug in my Ibanez RG to Line6 Toneport, effects processed through Gearbox and out to a 2.1 Channel speakers.

ohh...now i understand... because i press on it, that's why it sustains... And that's the meaning of Sustain also...

Same principle it applies for people doing palm muting also right...

Thanks... Oh ya... I accidentally, discovered that GATE cuts the ringing thing better...

Treshold cuts the ringing/sustain...

but what about DECAY? What does decay does? Sorry, I'm a tone-deaf...
I can't really differentiate 0% Decay with 100% Decay...

isnt decay, the sound u get, lets say a distortion, u strike a note or strum a chord, it sustains then after a few secs ( depending on how long ur sustain is xD ) the it dies off slowly till it goes silent. That sound at the part of die off slowly is decay.

the decay could also refer to the delay effect( dont mix them up though they are related and sound similar! )

the decay of a delay is the amount of repeats before it "fades" out.
