DOLL-FACED singer Angela Chang was in town for a showcase on Saturday night at the Max Pavilion @ Singapore Expo, and by all accounts, the gig was “a blast”, with all 5,000 who turned up enjoying themselves immensely.
But what was more interesting happened prior to doors opening. According to our source, organisers and security blokes had some “issues” at the beginning before doors opened.
Why? Because security caught people touting tickets, that’s why! Yup, according to the record label, the useless buggers were selling tickets for as high as $150.
Here’s the best part: Tickets were originally either given away free through contests or through purchases with sponsors.
“We had to stop them from selling the tickets as its against the regulations (and) tickets are not for sale,” wrote our source.
So, these people were trying to offload free tickets to fans, who would probably already have had their tickets. Which means that they’re very silly, or they think that fans are silly enough to pay $150 for something that would have been free.
Either way, I say it’s a good thing that these guys were caught. We’ve got enough problems in the music industry without useless touts trying to make a fast buck from unsuspecting fans.
And it’s illegal. No word yet on whether they’ll end up in the cooler. But I think no crime should go unpunished. I’m not asking for life imprisonment or even caning, but my father always favoured a tight slap. Just a suggestion.
