Turned on amp too long

Hi, just went overseas and didn't turn off my amp for 4 days...anything bad going to happen to it?

Usually nothing, if its a solid state amp.

If tube amp, well, just worn tubes.

i left my amp on for 2 days.. nothing happened. mines hybrid somemore..

the only thing that happened was insane electricity bills. expect the worst! :mrgreen:

Haven't told my parents yet...later they throw my amp out the window...actually its okay cos i live on 1st floor..

Even if its a tube amp it'll also be fine.

The reasons why tubes die out is actually the same reason
why incandascent lightbulbs blow out. Repeatitive Heating
and cooling of the filament, directly caused by turning the
bulb on/off.

By if just left on by itself, a tube amp can keep going on for
many many years and still work!

So leaving it on once for 4 days straight is actually better
than turning it on and off 10 ten times in a day. Thats why
there's a standby switch in tube amps.

Yeah, waste electricity, but saves TUBES!

1kW is 80cents, so the 4 days of amp using only cost a dollar plus...

30watt amp just times 2.

I always left my precious electrical stuff onn in a stdby mode all e time...IMO, I believe its better that way coz by allowing minimal current to run can oso those electronic component easily get moisture, rust and corrosion .And don't worry bout e bill...It won't cost dat much if you're using less than 100watts lah...Unless, You leave ur bathroom water heater (2500watts) and clothing iron(1000watts) onn for 24/7 then I believe it wil definitely cost you a bomb....Hehee...Happened to me once due to my maid forgot to off it....Lesson learned...Cheers!
