hey i'd like to ask, lets say u have a guitar with FR & you wanna tune ur strings, wad is the procedure like? i went to the floyd rose website & its kinda complicated the way they explain it.

another thing is about the locking nut. do i have to use a screw just to unscrew the locking nut? if so wouldn't it be weird if i were playing on stage using std tuning den i had to change to drop d tuning?

thanks alot. :D

you have to understand how a floyd rose works in order to know how to tune. Anyway, some threads abt Floyd rose has been stickied under well, up there.

You don't alternate tune with a floyd rose, one that is fully floating. So forget drop D tuning or anything else.

Only possible if your floyd is blocked for dive only or has a stiff tremsetter.

thanks. so how well does the licensed FR work compare to original FR. i mean does the licensed FRs give u problems frequently?

licensed Floyd Roses can easily better the Original Floyd Rose. Look at the Gotoh and Ibanez Edge.

However, there are licensed copies that are made with poor quality materials. Those, AVOID like the plague. Of course, one can always find a supposed-to-be-inferior licensed floyd that happens to work fine & dandy, but its NEVER the norm.
