Hi all,
I know that restringing for the RG 370 dx and other tremolo locking system has already been discussed and a good guide is also available (thanks to shredcow). BUt still...

I recently bought a RG 370dx. and It did come in standard tuning. I am new to this floyd rose system and it seems i cannot alter the tuning just like a normal guitar. THe other day i was trying to get it to half step down but it was coming back to the standard tuning. I believe we have to do something with the string tension and i would be glad if someone could explain how i am do this. I tried reading their teeny weeny manual and it was not much help.

And also is it possible to tune this guitar into other tunings, like open G, drop d, etc. If so, please do let me know it is done.

thanks a lot.

I was told you have to get it set-up by a professional...

Which is why I avoid Floyd roses or floating bridges altogether for that matter...

Yes is it possible but adjusting one will affect the other five. Best way to do other tunings on a floating bridge is to set up after chaing strings and leave it in that tuning. If constant change of tunings are what you are after, I don't think there's an easy way for that on a floating bridge.

thanks

Thanks guys...
I guess it it too much hassle to change from one tuning to another on a tremolo system..... Am gonna have to guy another fixed bridge guitar.... lol

well what i do is use erasers or coins or w/e u can find to block the trems from the underside if i want to do weird tunings... but the bridge would obviously be a fixed bridge and you cant use the tremolo.
