hi,im gonna replace my roland cube 30X with a tube amp.im considering the 1.orange tiny terror
2.marshall jcm 800
3.epiphone valve junior.

which one should i choose, with which cab to go along with it?and i also need pedals to go along too, which i only have a wah now.i use the epi lp ultra with sd aph-1 for neck and bridge.i play mostly stuff like gnr and metallica and hillsongs united.budget for the head is <$2500.

so softies, help me reccomend pedals, the head and the cab.many thanks in adv

with 2.5k budget buying the epi valve jr may see you buying another tube amp.choices 2 ans 3 are nice.cause you could get both.get the marshall in combo.dont waste in buying half-stack.

$2500 for the head? Skip the Tiny Terror and get a Rockerverb 30 or 50. Or save a little more and get the AD30HTC! I think you need to consider versatility as you're going from Metallica to Hillsongs United.

Some recommendations... the aforementioned Orange amps, Line 6 Spider Valve, THD Flexi-50, Visual Sound Workhorse. The latter three are pretty versatile considering the Spider Valve employs the POD modeling technology, THD Flexi-50 has the ability to switch to all different kinds of tubes easily by yourself, Visual Sound Workhorse switches from 6L6 tubes to EL34s with ease as well. These are just the few that come to mind at the moment.

As for the pedals, just get the necessities first i.e. eq, overdrive/distortion, delay, tuner.

yeah thanks.cos this will be my first tube amp,i want to make sure it is easy to use.anyway, is the 1x12 cab from orange better or is there any 1x12 from marshall?anyone had exp with tiny terror can share?i have tested the marshall and epi before

You want to buy such a powderful head but use only 1x12?
Haha..
I thought you had a lower budget..
Could recommend the Valve Junior or those Blackheart amps (never heard this though)..
But currently, the Marshall seems like a good choice.. Even the tiny terror is a good option..

if you are into pedals, the Valve Jr would provide a very good base to propel your tone (i recommend the head + 1x12). the orange & marshall are known for their inherent drive voicings. hear them in action, if these do not possess anything for you tone-wise, don't invest in them.
