Tube amp reccomendation.

Hello! I'm looking to upgrade to a tube amp soon, got to know of the Blackstar HT20 and the JetCity 20w head. Price wise they're pretty close, so its not really a problem for me. I play pop/rock/metal, currently using a cheapo laney amp I got from a fren.

I'm leaning towards the blackstar cos it has two channels, and I heard its made by people who used to work for marshall.

Hmmmm if you're getting the Blackstar, which i recommend, you might need an extra pedal to drive the amp for the metal tones, bcos it isn't high-gain enough IMHO. But the Blackstar all in all is a good amp.

fwiw, i've got the blackstar ht20h myself and what made me decide on the blackstar was the emulated speaker output for direct recording, and silent practice through my soundcard at night too. it sounds pretty awesome to me.

plus the fact that their gain channel suits me just fine...

hey dood how do u use the emulated output speaker thingy? i mean besides putting headsets inside, is there a way to record straight from the head or play through the com? sorry for the hijacking =/

1/4 jack out of the output --> Soundcard/Audiointerface --> DAW

regardless of who they used to work for, make sure they make some likable stuff for you

Jet City Amplification

Do come and try out the Jet City amps as well! We're just round the corner.

As the amps have only recently reached our shores last month, I doubt there are many reviews from local guitarists here. So do allow me to highlight a few differences in a nutshell...

The JCA20 head is about a 100 bucks cheaper than the HT-20 :o
It's signal path is pure tube straight from guitar all the way to the power section.
If you're a purist looking for tube tone, this is where the JCA delivers.

The entire Jet City range is actually designed by Mike Soldano, renowned boutique high gain amp maker.
We're also expecting the the 50W, 100W head and 50W combo to arrive very soon.
Last but not least, we do offer a full year's warranty for all Jet City products.

So sorry to hijack this tread! But I'm curious on what drive pedals should i get for my HT-5? I usually play heavy rock to thrash metal.. So yeah. So sorry TS :(

is that amp even on our shores yet?? btw blackstar also came out with a one watt version of the ht5. but its not even on their webby yet last i checked -.-
