Hi guys !! I'm trying to pick up keyboard. I am interested in pop keyboard and during my search on yahoo, i found this replugged music sch at Bugis.
Does anyone know this sch? as in is this sch good, cheap... etc. And was wondering is it very difficult to self-taught or it just takes a longer time than going to a music sch... thanks :)

I think you should consider taking up lessons although it's possible to be a self taught keyboardist. Reason being attending lessons guides you along the way in terms of the stuff you learn for both theory and practical so that you are always on the right track along the learning road....

My friend is learning under the Replugged school. The teacher there is very good according to him, and he plays a mean guitar too.

You can check out Citymusic also. My friend learns pop piano there and he also says his teacher(this malay guy( is good and has experience working for the Malay television channel(sorry I don't know the name of the channel) in Singapore producing music for them.

Hello,

Yes. Syawal from Citymusic is a great teacher. (he teaches pop piano though) I'm currently learning from him at the moment. He can teach various styles like jazz, blues, salsa, pop and classical. I would recommend him w/o a blink of an eye. He does productions and compositions. The best part is that he's a great teacher and teaches based on what you wish to learn and also your style (e.g. kids learn differently from adults). The only VERY minor complaint i would have (and he brought up himself) is that citymusic does not have a fixed curriculum unlike Yamaha. Even that is not a major flaw as he still tries to keep the lessons progressive. With strong self-determination (and lots of self-practice), i dare say he can make anyone a performer within a year. I wish i could say the same about me but time has not been kind to me and i've been lacking practice thus i'm still quite far from performing on the piano. Anyway, Good luck with learning!

Kenneth

You can get the privilege card then there is a 15 percent off for the course in replugged music...Lesson will be 1 hour and they will supply you keyboard and music piece. You just need is time to learn and practice..or else how good the teacher is, you also get lose out...So your determination to learn and practice your own is important...
