im sure tre and travis are both extremly talented drummers.

tre can do travis's crazy fill in's. For one travis strokes/rudiments are fricking great!

I think he diefinetly is one of the best punkrock drummers out there man but there are others too :D

aren't there any other punk drummers worth quoting other than Travis and Tre? I remember thinking the Alkaline Trio drummer was really good. As is the Amber Pacific one, and the one from Boys Like Girls.

hmm the drummers from MCR,Saosin and Fall Out Boy are good too from my point of view.....if there's others pls add k.... :D

travis not the average punk drummer..as a drummer..his awesome..but his roots are not tradtionally punk..i think..
he's a little experimental..too experimental for punk sometimes..but he's jus way awesome...

see the thread "Who do you think is the best drummer."

anyway, travis had jazz roots. he was under a jazz teacher. he said in an interview or something that he dint want to be like normal punk drummers. i think he really is extremely versatile. haha he even played 1-handed. kudos to travis. used to be a huge blink fan. not any more. not cause they broke up, just moved my influence from punk to other stuff.

travis barker overrated? i really think he deserves it man. he sneaks alot of other genres into his pop punk drumming. almost fusionesuqe, i've heard latin clave influences, funk based grooves and quite abit of military style snare work. i feel he's a really studied drummer. i'd give john otto from limp bizkit credit as well, sick groove and very well placed ghost notes. he was basically slicking the hip hop funk groove into metal, very cool stuff. otto had a huge bonham like sound and he cld bust out a funk groove like jabo starks(james brown). listen to "just like this" from 3 dollar bill and u will hear his groove is really influenced by clyde stubblefield's(james browns main drummer) famous groove in james brown's most sampled song "give the drummer some".

agreed, Travis is a really versatile drummer! Though i'm not into punk but i used to listen to blink and the only punk band i listenend to other then green day.. Kudos to Travis
