Hey guys,

I realised there's a supplier in Singapore: Woodworkz at penin.
Was looking at their promo posters and I'm wondering how there electronic kit compares to the Dtx/Roland series..

Anyone care to give me a brief review?

"E450 - $1321
Portable Electronic Drums

The E450 is the newest portable electronic kit from Traps. It feels like a regular drum kit. Unlike other electronic drums you get a standard sized set of drums 12" snare, 10" tom, 12" tom, 14" tom and 20" kick drum. These are fitted with mesh heads and a new under skin trigger system for near silent performance"

trap drums sucks man. i tried them personally and it is nothing compared the DTX or roland series. you cant hit the middle of the toms and pads because it will destroy the trigger and the sound isnt very good. the whole feel of the E drums are also kinda fake, and not good for practice nor stage use at all. DO NOT BUY A TRAP E-DRUM.

interesting.

thanks redemptionnite for the heads up review.

we should grab a few of the guys and go down try it for a more complete review...

I find the cymbals very very bad, especially the hi hat - open and closing. The cymbal pads are just horrible. The module is basic so I don't expect realistic sound. The mesh heads are just ok. I do like the idea of Traps at such a price but I believe it has a lot of potential - long way to go - before it can compete with Roland or Yamaha.

Traps also have a e-pad set where you place over pads to convert an acoustic drum into an electronic. Very nice idea, it's like giving sound to sound off pads. I don't think other companies has that. However, sad to say, the pads don't feel right. Very little rebound.

Traps E-drums

anybody?

I'm seriously considering getting this but i need some advice!
:(

I have been to the shop and tried the E450. Frankly speaking is one of the most silent drums I have tried. The heads is mesh type and the trigger is at the bottom. But some of the parts is made of ABS plastic and I'm not sure of the quality. From what I know that plastic deterioriates over time. As for the spares, I have asked the owner and he says currently he already bringing in a few sets. If the drums is acceptable in the s'pore market, he will definitely bring in another few sets and some spares. A good and friendly guy. You can drop by and test the drums. He be gladly answer all your questions.:-D
