Hey peeps... I wanna do a Music and Audio Technology diploma at Singapore Polytechnic. But I'm already 19 years old. And I'm hoping to start next year in April. Soooooo I'll be almost 20 X.X I feel like I'm going to have a hard time fitting in with the younger kids there. What do you guys think? :???:

during my first year in audio engineering course.

there is a 45 year old guy in foundation taking up guitar pop.

i was ard 20

i guess age doesnt matter,, your character matter

hey TS, i've a lot of friends who were above 20 when they entered poly. those who come from overseas, those who took nitec or/and higher nitec and even those just wanna work after O's first then do their diploma after 1/2 years. no worries about the age.

I'm 22 first year poly the ite ->NS->poly path and i fit in very well with my younger classmate lol.

Age is just a number my friend.

i am 28 years old. graduated from SMU... then worked in the goddamned bank, quit to do my own business which failed, now want to take another degree in speech theraphy in Australia.

life is too short for regrets. we live only once. never too old for anything...

good luck!

Agree with the others. In polytechnic, students older than the norm are a very large minority. So don't worry, there're probably others older than you. Diplomas are similar to Degrees in that you're never too old to get one. Both are specialized qualifications... So go for it.

I'm also a polytechnic student and I'm older than the norm but not by much. But the downside is that my friends of the same age or one year younger are in NS while I'm still in polytechnic.

I used to be from DMAT and I had this good friend who is 20 this year and he's in year 2.

Age is not a matter when it comes to learning!

Thank you very much for your comments! All pumped up now! Can't wait to start next year! Wohooo! Thanks again all =3

I start out poly only when i finish my NS.
It pretty normal now

HAd a long way to poly --

My education is a long one -

Repeat Primary 6 -
'O" level - 5
"ITE" another 2 yr
NS - 2.5 yr
SO do the math - i was about 23 or 22 when i poly.
And finish around 25.
to me poly is a breeze as my ITE studies did help ( min study effort with above avg grade)
Then another 2 yr in Uni (oversea)

And now working as engineer - and can afford to get load of gear ----
