tone differences in humbuckers

hi guys,

anybody here can share info on wats the tone diff btwn humbuckers wif cover n without??
for example, i saw dis SD JB humbucker wif nickle cover which looks similar like those humbuckers in LP, im wondering if the tone would be diff or btr than the normal JB ones without the cover.

Covered humbuckers emit less higher frequencies, all else being equal.

cover = less perceived output due to less treble freqs like thor said. Overall vibe = warmer tone... perhaps even "muddy-ish".

You can experiment lah... buy a cover, solder on then listen loh.

But note, to put cover on a humbucker that doesn't have one means you gotta pot the thing in wax.
