As the title... am not sure if someone has psoted this before but, for some people who cant make up their minds... Lets start a Lil' topic

who'd like to get the Ball rollin

erm its qutie hard to decide yes or no for this topic... it all really boils down to whether u use it in ur music or not... of course having a whammy adds a lot of colour to your play but i dont really play with whammy cuz im not too familiar on how to use it to its fullest... haha sadly most gib LP's havn no whammy slots w/o u custom installing them... and i dont think u wanna neck kbend on a gibson les paul unless ur 100% sure on how to do it or ur gonna break paul's neck

i had a guit with a floyd rose for about 10 years and never used the whammy. Then I bought a tele, and started practicing more and missed the whammy... so I made sure the next guit I bought had a whammy.

I think it's useful, and I don't really think you miss out on any tone.

Also Considering that Floating Bridge guitars are usually More expensive, But Would it be equal More or less If you found a Guitar with No whammy and 24 Frets as compared to a 22 Fret Whammy??

so it Thickens....

Whoa 10 years is a LONG time man.. yea my idea of flaoting bridges that it Loses some of ur sustain, but thast just me... i dont know why but it just is in my head... no idea where it came from.. but ya...

Whammy for me. Though, having a floyd makes your tone thinner and takes away bass, it works out well when you can do things a fixed bridge can't do.

Yeah, I used to play an Ibanez GRG with an edge pro bridge, but I totally hated that and sold it off to get an Epi Les Paul (with an ABR-1 stopbar, duh). Didn't really see much of a need for whammy for my type of playing, although I would love to see myself doing hendrix-esque divebombs one day...

I didn't know GRGs came with Edge Pro bridges... you sure?

Most of the misconceptions of a floyd rose style bridge comes from having a poor quality one in the first place. If you have a good one, you will experience superior tuning stability and you can abuse it all day along with little fear of string breaks and stuff.

Not too sure man. But one thing's for sure, it was a floyd-rose-esque model. Didn't like it because of the inconvinience during string changing and it's "looseness". I don't mind trying the Wilkinson bridge though.

yeah, i;ve heard people talking about The hassle of canging the Strings on a Floyd, whast Everyone talking about actually ??

Did it have locking nuts?

If not, its more of a Wilkinson-esque model.
