Thursday 13th Dec gig feat. The November Iris, Blind Meets Mute, My Precious, AES.

Its an organiser's job to do everything and all bands just have to sit and wait to play and complain about every single thing. guitarist's gadget spoilt, thats not my problem. how many songs they perform, not my problem. Problems that should have been solved by me and reported to me is that how come they went on stage, noone came to me. How come 2 bands went on stage, noone came to me. Till I went to check with the previous 2 bands, then AES came to me.

Disrespectful is when you dont listen to what organisers say. When informed THRICE, sound turned off, and yet still being on stage performing with no excuse whatsoever, THATS disrespectful.

The 2bands didnt know they werent supposed to perform, because AES didnt report to me nor did i hear any complains from the other 2 bands myself.

So let me tell you this. If Im being disrespectful about reprimanding AES for playing overtime, giving attitude, having no respect, having no responsibility, with a rockstar attitude, then when AES get somewhere, I'd apologise.

But if I was nice and told AES its okay, let them play longer, let them give the last band lesser than th 15mins they already have, yea. Everything would have been nice and gone smoothly. But then again, they wouldnt have realised what theyve done. But then again, considering reading from your post, Im assuming they havent.

And as I said before, as other gig organisers would agree, its not that easy to organise a gig. so go ahead and get one done. Simple.
I dont wish to argue over something so mundane and so redundant when its pretty obvious whats going on, so if you think im wrong, by all means.

sorry to the bands performing, besides. . yea. for having this to happen on your thread.

Shouldnt the organisers make sure that every band gets to play at the scheduled time?
The organisers wasnt there to supervised who gets the stage at what time.
And if you didnt noticed, the guitarist's gadget was spoilt on that day itself causing the delay.
They ended up performing only 4 songs.
And some of their friends missed their performance due to the 2 bands who skipped them.

I have had this happen to me from both sides of the coin. That's a pretty lame excuse. If your pedals/guitar/own amp that you carried from home cock up on you, that's your tough luck. It's your own equipment, it's your own responsibility to see if it's in working order, that's what soundcheck is for. Don't expect the soundman or organisers to be responsible for the fact that you couldn't pay 10 bucks for a new pot and your OD exploded. I have to say most bands are pretty nice about it and it's easy to work with them towards a solution, but there are some who think they are some huge rockstar mofos and talk down to you like a pet dog. If you overshoot the time and you still can't get it working, too lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove bad, improvise. Everyone's had to do it at one point or another.

Organising a gig is probably hard but the way you shouted at the guitarist outside DXO was unacceptable and disrespectful.
How do you expect people to respect you, when you yourself approach them in such a manner?
You were shouting at them to apologised to the band after them when the 2 bands before them didnt apologised.
It's unfair, I must say.
It's no surprised why they left just like that.

Cheers.

What I don't understand is why you say the two bands before AES needed to apologise when AES was the one who overshot their time and made the stupid remarks. I think it's amazing that they could stone down there and sit through one entire set without mentioning anything to the organisers about having their set koped.

but i guess the organizer partly wrong.no offence to anyone though but seriously, organizer should keep all band in track of their schedule time performance.it's what partly organizer has to do.to organize the event, keep all stuff in track during the time of the event and if possible make everyone happy.if that is achieved, i congratulate you for being a good organizer.but there will always be some cock-ups here and there but it's still manageble and forgiven.

if you can't handle these stuff alone get someone else to help you with.yes we know that the organizer is giving opportunities to unknown bands but in the same way you must act professionally towards all musicians.i've seen those gig organizers who organize big events with famous local bands on that particular event take good care of the band.they never disrespect those musicians.

i don't see why organizer should treat unknown bands lowly of them by insulting them in front of everyone.maybe cos unknown band ar hack care la.as long the show runs.(maybe some think that way). but the organizers and bands should talk things out together.talk with the bands who steal the stage which was supposed to be someone else performance during that particular time.this stuff can be sort out.it's just that the organizer and bands should give in to each other.not act like you know all about the whole scene and kept bragging about it.

i would love to explain all over again in details like how i did for 2 threads.
but im just thinking you dont know me well enough to judge what kind of person i am.

When you are starting out, NOBODY owes you ANYTHING. You have to prove yourself.

If the organizer begged you to play for their event, then it's a different story.

If the organizer is REALLY at fault, then nobody will support their next event.

Want to bet about whether that happens?
