Tt's pretty interesting but very draining. Unless you have a huge team to cover as many shows as possible, it will be hard to excecute.
Musicians are more keen to talk about their art/ "art" than an actual performance. All you can probably get outta them is "I wish the audience was more responsive." or "Yeah, the audience rocked". When you have around 5 acts which says the same, it gets boring. So you'd notice for most of our interviews, we avoid the taboo subjects like:
1) What does your band name mean?
2) How did you guys form? (This is barely okay since most acts are fine with sharing this info unless the information is freely available online or readily known. Then it shows that you are just lazy not doing your research.)
3) What do you think of the local music scene and what can be done to improve it? (GOD!!! This is the most no-no question!!!)
Trust us on this. 40+ interviews later... Most bands wouldn't want to answer most of the questions abovementioned, esp the last one.
