Things to consider when buying an Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy

Just a few observations I've made, I didnt exactly buy one, GX or EX.
These guitars are made in the new chinese Gibson factory and the first Prophecy's made by this factory arent very good, but not for the reasons you may think. Rest assured they improved and they're great now!
The Prophecy series have 24 frets and on a les paul a 24th fret can be a problem because they are unreachable like this one

So if you want to buy a prophecy les paul look for one like this where the 24th fret is very close to the cutaway

And one last thing, make sure the neck heels are as small as possible, because the first prophecy's made have HUGE neck Heels. everybody knows reaching the higher frets on a les paul isn't very easy and the Huge neck heel will only make it worse, especially with an already unreachable 24th fret.
Thats why if you guys go to http://www.sweetwater.com/guitargallery/electric and check out the Prophecy Les Pauls, their neck heels are quite small and thats good
So go for a prophecy with a neck heel like this

and not this like this (I've seen prophecy Les Pauls on Ebay with even bigger Neck heels than this)

to conclude, make sure the 24th fret is close to the cutaway and the neck heel is small to have the best possible prophecy Les Paul out there. If you and a friend have the same guitar, Wouldn't you hate it to find out your friend has the better guitar, even though its the same model?

I tried this baby at Swee Lee a week ago along with the Boss Metalcore distortion and I felt like a metal star within seconds.

Anywhere else in SG which I can find the improved version of it? Thinking of buying this instead of a real Gibson with EMGs.

You might wanna try Swee Lee's Katong showroom, its newly opened. But I'm sure Swee Lee has these guitars in the back still in their packaging, what you tried was most likely the display model only

well,no guitars are exactly the same :)
if you want to get this, you might wanna try out a few of the same guitars before you purchase it :)

matt heafy eh? Haha.

Hahah yep. Been a fan of his guitars and his tone since Ascendancy was released. This guitar can, and I dare say, give Gibson a run for its money. I'll probably be getting this guitar cuz my band will be doing a lot of drop c metalcore/hardcore stuff. For shred stuff I'll still stick to my Deans and Jacksons.

jmb23, I plan to. I've never really heard of Swee Lee's Katong showroom before and the only models I managed to try out were at Sim Lim and Bras Basah.
