Thick Curtains for HDB flat?

Hi,

Recently my neighbour complained abt me playing my acoustic (fingerstyle) late at night.. 10.30 - 12am. Currently I am switching on the air con and shutting the windows tight and drawing the curtains.
However, the lady still says that she can hear me playing and she can't sleep. I am a bit reluctant to give up my practice time so I was wondering if thicker curtains would help?

Could you recommend me some curtains also?

Dude, play it softer? Or play in another room? Thicker curtains will help, but not sure how much. Or change your practice time. No problem practicing, but do consider others' welfare too yeah

hmm...from ur vids, it's not tat loud compared to electric guitar stuff...
if u've already closed the windows and they can still hear, that means the sound transmission could probably be thru the wall. if that's the case, 10-inch thick curtains oso no use.

so yea...probably practise in another room. hope u continue w ur great stuff!

Have you tried using a sound hole cover ?

damn... it makes me feel quite bad now.. because i usually crank both the preamp and poweramp drive controls around 830am or so.....

Hmm...don't know if getting thicker curtains in your room would further insulate any sound but yeah, your neighbour has bionic ears indeed!! My god!
