Short review of the DTXtreme III from Rhythm Magazine

"The biggest news from Yamaha is the launch of the DTXtreme III, which looks set to become the flagship of their electronic drum series. Boasting two configuration options, a new sampling wave from their oak, maple, birch and beech Custom Absolute drum ranges, new cymbal sounds, 50 preset kits, 50 user kits and 45 practice songs, new hi-hat, cymbal and kick pads as well as many of the functions of the DTXtreme II, we can't wait to get our mitts on this one!"

Enjoy and all the best!

Also want bring to your attention that there would be a Zildjian Workshop by Tama Goh and Robert Nalin

Hey thanks Jeepers for the heads up.

Btw, I already went to music plaza at PS to check out the stuff on sale, apparently, seems like there are more items that are on sale than what was shown in the catalogue.

Almost all the cymbals on display had a discounted price tag on it. Though I'm not too sure if it only applies to yamaha members/students for the discount to take effect, I guess its worth a look at again.

I didnt managed to spend much time in music plaza yesterday (time limit set by gf lol). I'll go back one of these days to check out the cymbals again. The discount is pretty substantial. For example the 13" k hybrid was discount to $540+ from its orginal of $630+. The 24" K Light ride is going for $560+ now, its orginal price was around $740 + ? (Jeepers I know you are very keen in this 24" hehheh).

So do go check it out if you have the time guys, but then again I still unsure if it only applies to yamaha students/members. So its better to check it out before buying. :)

Cheers
Lj

No worries guys!

And thanks Spinninsticks for the heads up!

I thought only the items in the catalog were on sale, how naive of me.

Haha yup the Light Ride sure is interesting, but got a Artisan already. Two sexies cannot la, also thinking of converting to turkish cymbals instead. Cheaper and almost similar sounds IMHO.

Let's go down together man, what say you? :D

Hmmm if the Jimmy Chamberlin sig snare is on sale too... I'd be soooo tempted to splurge! lol.

I think i remembered all along Manu Katche comes with throne and foot pedal...and DTXplorer comes with the foot pedal too.....

Might be some printing error...anyway not important....but might be useful for those who wants to buy to double check w Yamaha guys...

@ jeepers:
Well if you dun mind waiting till after next monday that is, I'm still having my exams now haha. Yea man we can all go together, ask reuben and mel along, the more the merrier! :D

@ Mel:
Oh yea, my bad did not check out if the snares were on sale though. But seems like everything if not most of the items there are on sale, can always go and have alook or something :)

spinninsticks: I don't mind. Haha. I don't think I'll be getting anything (Cymbals, at least) See the prices on the snares first, would prolly get a couple pair of sticks. Stock up on my Elvin Jones' Sigs. Yup will ask reubs and mel along. But Mel busy busy man leh.

Anyway, pm me your msn/hp for easy contact. :D
