just wanting to know about the PRS Custom 22 & 24, hows the sound. what type of sounds should the PRS guitar be classified under, and how much can i get it? is there already a thread posted on this topic?

PRS well they got a sound of their own. Dual humbuckers give you a quite aggresive tone and it can be cleaned up by rolling the vol/tone. PRSes are famous for their mid-spike so its a mid heavy guitar. Cuts through in a band situation. The Custom 22 has Dragon II pickups whereas Custom 24 has a Vintage Bass/HFS. The Custom 24s pickups are higher out put screamers think around duncan distortions. Where as the Cu22 has a mid-high output, ard SD JB level. BTW a PRS will NOT sound like a Fender/Gibson it has their own sound. Thats the misconception that many people has since they think PRS is a hybrid gibson/fender it will have a good mixture of the two sounds. Using the split option in the pickups it can give a good approximation of the 2/4 position in the fender strat. The PRS that has the closest tone to Gibson is the Mc Carty.

Am using a Standard 22 which the main difference between a Custom 22 is that the standard is all mahogany body where as the custom has a maple cap. Thus the standard has a more warmer tone as compared to the custom 22 which has more snap. Its tuned standard D w 10-52 sets. I get a very2 warm tone from it and its quite aggresive great for heavy rock/metal. Also when i roll off the volume/tone using the splits and neck i can get a v good jazz tone.
