Thanks to someone called Kimura who commented on a post I did earlier about DJ Earworm’s cool mashuploveof 25 songslove(http://blogs.todayonline.com/poparazzi/2009/12/31/25-songs-one-hit/), I managed to find this gem of a mashup.
Personally, I’ve found that mashups just signify two things: One, that music is cyclical and two,lovepeople who do mashups are slightly more creative than people who sample.
I mean, you’ve got to find the right songs with the right tempo, rhythms, and in some cases melody and put all these element together, whereas, you know, sampling is just … er, copying! : )
Take The Beatles’ Drive My Car mashup on the Love album or if you get Best Of Bootie 2009, you’ll here this cool mashup called Shut Up And Take Me Out, featuring not just The Ting Tings or Franz Ferdinand, but also Aretha Franklin! How does it work? Well, you have to check out the following site…
