The humble guitarist

Well how to be humble? I don't know how I'm always so proud even when I'm humble. Just look at my playing unclean as ever, look at my timing out forever.
Can your band's guitarist do that?

seriously?? haha
lol yes, i uploaded like 10 mins of clip of his last concert here.. the quality wasn't that fantastic but it got reported and taken down by Yngwie Malmsteen Management anyway.. I still see a million videos of him on youtube man.. lol i want my account back!! but youtube wouldn't give.. =/

i have never seen or heard of yngwie bragging about his guitar skills, have you?

the way he talks tend to rub people the wrong way though, but i can totally understand why. he comes across as the kinda guy where if you talk to him nicely he won't talk to you badly.

Pardon if I'm wrong.. but didn't malmsteen used to have some kind of feud with vai about being the best guitarist in the world? And also mentioned that he should have been the guitarist for Deep purple instead of Steve Morse.

not sure but i thought vai and yngwie are good friends? and yngwie is a known blackmore fan, natural for him to wanna play for deep purple...

A humble guitarist is one where he'll listen to ALL the band members.

Just my honest opinion.

You know, I'm not sure if that's a humble guitarist or not, but if you think about it, if A were to ask him to play this and B, another bandmate, were to ask him to play otherwise, then how can he listens to all the band members? Hmm.....

nah you cant be humble or you arent fitter to be a lead guitarist. An act of trying to be humble or thinking that you must be humble cuz ppl say dont be proud is bad for your ego. guitarist needs loads of ego to pull him thoough all those solos and shit. so, feed that big ego and shred that fretboard.

Of course, decide what decision suits the situation best. I am not stating that the guitarist should confuse himself by listening to ALL band members at once. Just decide what's best in the situation.

err.. not all lead guitarists do that. i feel rather annoyed at gigs when the lead guitarist is always too damn soft to hear and his solos and riffs don't come through well. balanced rather, i'd say.

Well balanced........it's rather hard to do that if the soundmen don't do their work. But that's another topic in itself.

The true humble guitarist:

when there's a jam session on stage with other guitarists and you know you can play them inside out ... but you hold back and dont make them look bad ....

Anyone wanna cut heads with me? :-)
