THE FOOTBALL THREAD Vol 2

just as expected, my doubts for the central defence and of course, fabianski. oh wells, chelski did play a good game, they have more chances but were so much unlucky. we didn't penetrate much either though apart from losing vital possessions here and there. *shrugs* maybe we're aiming for the Champions League against Man Utd more than the FA Cup.

Fabianski too inexpirienced ... Almunia wud have saved it ... but the defence should have covered the shot before anything ..

As for their winner - WHY DID SILVESTRE NOT GIVE CHASE TILL THE END OR AT LEAST TRY TO SLIDE IN ... HE GAVE THTA DOGFACEBA AN OPEN GOAL! WHY WHY HWY HWY WHY????? ALEX MUST BE STILL PAYING HIM UNDER TABLE ....

I am totally not satisfied

Overrate? Haha do Villareal have a striker as good as Torres? Sry, but thats a no. Were they missing their most influential player(s)? Yes. U saw Torres rip open Man U's defence even though only Ferdinand was missing. And he was supposedly half-fit. I am only stating facts here. Yes, Arsenal have Arshavin and Fabregas back. But can they ditch their attacking talents for more defensive duties? They would leave lots of space for the Liverpool midfielders to exploit on counter attacks. Not to mention that the Arsenal squad only will have had 2 days to rest, as compared to Liverpool having 7 days. But i do concede that Arsenal have an ( irritating ) habit of winning big games, so i predict a scoreline of 2-1 to Liverpool, with Torres and Van Persie or Adebayor on the scoresheet.

i believe u just did what i said u guys normally do

anyways, for this match i might just agree with you. Fabianski isn't one for big games and silvestre has a manure badge under the arsenal one, so...

and walcott's crossing needs to find their targets.

loldude33, theres always a price for thrashing man utd 4-1 at trafford. shattered dreams for the champions league my liverfool friend hehehe

dammmmmmmmmmmmm I so wanted man u to be in the finals - so they could be stretched when GUNNERS PLAY THEM OVER THE 2 LEGGED SEMIS ...

with both teams outta the FA Cup finals - the CL semis is going to be FREAKIN TITANIC!

Aiyoh, i wondered why Fergie featured his young devils team today. i mean it's the FA Cup Semis right? If anyone's great with a young squad it will be Wenger and that alone took years to perfect.

But good also la, let them keep good players for BPL and start figuring out a way to stretch the lead further from liverpool, hopefully they throw another young team for UCL Semis.

what to do, blue is the new red what.

and scousers will feel the wrath of arsenal, fabregas to pay xabi alonso back for the knee injury, walcott and adebayor to score with nasri and arshavin to heavily support the attackers.

i hope sagna is back soon. we need to start patching up our defence back. and oh, fabianski to have more confidence if almunia is not back yet. definitely.

Van Persie and Adebayor to miss Anfield trip

Arsenal will be without Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor for the trip to Liverpool on Tuesday.

The Dutchman picked up a groin problem in the FA Cup Semi-Final defeat to Chelsea on Saturday. His Togolese strike partner is rested because Arsène Wenger does not want to gamble on his tight hamstring.

On the upside, Bacary Sagna is back after sickness. But, at his press conference on Monday afternoon, the Arsenal manager was unsure if the right back would start or not.

“From Saturday we have lost Robin van Persie, who has a little groin problem,” said Wenger.

Emmanuel Adebayor is rested. He has a little hamstring alert and we don’t want to take a gamble on him.

Bacary Sagna is back in the squad we’ll decide if he can play tomorrow.”
