The do and donts in a Jamming room


yerp...

for me i experience weird jammers alot

some even Mosh in the jam room
SOME EVEN PLAY MONOPOLY WHILE SINGING!!
Some even put back the guitar nicely and change the double peddle for us.
Some even half way thru jamming .esp voc ..can play the psp to complete some quest..
Some even like to do Body surfing...
Some even like to homework while jamming.
 
some like to show off their man boobs.
some like to leave jamming halfway due to gf/bg commitments.
some like to learn song halfway.
some like to hit crash using guitar headstock.
some like to stand infront of other players amp.
some like to play when your talking to another band member.
some like to come late.
some like to invite alot of people to see.
some like to squeez all their friends in one jamming room.
some like to fart alot.
 
is this you see people do or what you have done?

well...

some like to climb the kit like a rodeo.
some like to jam like they have done so for 138956239 years.
some like to eat while jamming.
some like to shock their band mates using the cables attached to the amps.

these are just some of the wierdest things seen and done.
 
my main irks...

some like to showboat when ppl are peeking through the glass window/door.
some like to turn it up louder than others
some like to borrow $$$ to pay for the session
some like to be difficult and follow their own path regardless of the song style
some like to take their own sweet time to set up
... and most come unprepared.
 
haha,
some wear beach shorts and slippers to jam
some wear ah beng clothes to jam
some drink water then spit all over the place
some burn guitars in jamming studios(havent seen before yet)
some use guitar to grind the amp
 
more!

some people who standing on top of the amp..
people who tune down all the guitars and bass(hmph!)
open their smmelly shoes in the ONE SMALL room(haish....)
oh ya i even see people trying to make a music video(like Foo fighters -monkey wrench-) at simei jamming room hahahahha!!!
 
the all famous one..

some like to book studio and cancel and the very last minute.
some like to sabo the next user and untune all the guitars.
some like cabot quickly to avoid contributing to pay for the jam session
 
Hahaha..

Some celebrate birthday in the jamming room
Some bring in birthday cake for the birthday celebration in the jamming room
Some bring wine on top of the birthday cake for the birthday celebration in the jamming room
Some spill the wine all over the carpet while having the birthday celebration in the room, with birthday cake
Some left the cream of the cake on guitar strings during the birthday celebration in the room, after drinking the wine
Some left behind the rubbish, tissue papers and birthday cake leftover, after the birthday celebration
ALL of them are working adults...
 
last time I hang out with my friend's band , play punkrock one... the guy play guitar keep jumping when jamming at BMC Weelee aljunied, then the uncle came in and say "oi, don't jump jump around here! you want you go singapore river and jump!" hahaha..
 
some like to sit down and play

some like to bring many many papers with guitar tabs and prefer to learn it on the spot when jamming with friends than practising at home first

some like to keep playing their own instruments while the other guys are taking a small half a minute break until the rest of the mates have to ask him to stop so they can start practising
 
yeah..ahaha, everything starts with "some people"

okok

do not burn guitar in jamming room
do not act dao and show off ur skills
do not disrespect the place and do stupid stuff
do not climb on the amps or sit on the amps, thats what chairs are for

do learn and practice everything at home and not learn stuff on the spot unless ur really really pro
do keep the place tidy and respect the jamming studio, cause if u spoil the instruments, the bands after u will have to suffer
do have fun and jump around alittle
do bring enough cash so that ur band mates wont end up having to pay for you
do be ON TIME!!! being late during jam sessions is really irritating, especially when ur band is rushing to finish learning a set for a gig
 
haha.. ok ok, now on the serious note ...

Dos and Donts

- come early, ard 5-10mins to avoid rushing
- call early for any cancellations or change of timing, and not a few mins or even after the time slot booked.
- Before session starts, check all equipments for any damages or missing parts. If reported at the earliest, u wont be liable and wont cause any misunderstandings
- Take good care of the equipments like as if they r yours.
- Report damages on equipments done by you during or after the session
- Put back all the amps, drums etc if u shift them. If u remove drum toms or cymbals for example, fix them back before u leave.
- Always get help or assistance from the studio crew if u encounter problems. Do not try to fix them yourself. You may just create more problems.
- Plug out cables by holding the head. If u pull the cable itself, it will get damaged.
- Check that you do not leave anything behind. Studios cannot be responsible if the next band found your belongings and say, "Finders Keepers"
- Do not eat or drink in the studio. Spilt drink and food crumbs are not good
- Do not blast the volume and gain for the amps and mixer. It will only shorten the lifespan.
- Do not sit on the amps
- Do not get carried away and start kicking the equipments
- Do not pay your jamming session with a $1000 note!

... cant think of any more for now.. brain jammed.. ahahha
 
do ask ask your friend who has a car to pick up all you and your bands gear to send them to the studio..

meanwhile you are out with your girlfriends...

Do not plug out the cable from the amp when it is still on!
Do not drink beer and puke in the studio
Do not force the drumkits around...use em bloody screws to adjust.
Do not blast the gain of the amps. Preferrably below 5.

Do wash your feet and body toroughly before entering the studio or the next band has to suffer.
Do make sure the mic doesnt give any feedback or pls ask for assistance.
