hardtailing not difficult what. just cut a block of wood that fits nicely into that space between the body and the block the voila! sounds easy but you gotta have the right tools. get a furniture shop guy to cut a block for u with the given dimensions. I'm sure a kind fella will help you out.
save up, it's going to be worth it if you are in for the tone and not the branding. There was this blind busker that walked into Guitar Connection just the other day. He played a few strats there and compared to all those beautiful Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster, he claims that the partocaster loaded with Tonerider Classic Blues set had the most distinctive sound. He bought a few sets to try instead of buying another guitar. I followed suit. I mean, how can you not trust blind guy when it comes to tone :s ?
I bought a set of Safaris as mentioned before. Still loving them. Of course brands like Lollars are good but to me, good tone is good tone. The pricetag is a matter of whether you want to feel good paying for it. It's no different from Levis and Giordano. Both are good but its obvious which is the preferred brand.
I do have a lot of guitars in my possession but I only own a few of them. For obvious reasons, they are not for sale. My workhorses are guitars that are not in good condition at all & modded all out. Every guitar is different & I like it that way .
