Not looking for a too Expensive guitar though.

i did that =)
squier tele - $300
pickups - total $280
wiring and crap - $40
new pickguard - $30
new bridge - $60

total - $710

get that Mexican Fender Blacktop for $880...

your choice =3

OR!

you can choose the Squier OBEY Telecaster, and have a humbucking single coil neck pickup =)

mind telling me more about projecting own tele with humbucking cavity? i dont mind if the guitar has one pickup only as long as its a bridge position. was thinking of putting a emg pickup on a telecaster but im not sure where to start

the above guitar's on sale @ Swee Lee BB- highly recommended :-)

i would suggest Jim Root Telecaster.
with 42mm nut. more comfortable for Asian Hand.

buy from oversea, don buy locally.

Hey bro, just get a tele and start modding away!
Step 1: get a cheap and ridiculously good sounding tele
Step 2: save enough money for a full sized humbucker + routing cost + new bridge (total cost for me was around $250)
step 3: bring to a store that has the bridge AND guitar routing services :)

I'll take a pic and upload it soon

im trying to look for a cheap n ridiculously good sounding tele. but its hard. most of em pretty expansiveness. i saw some of the schecter's tele n they look pretty sweet

that u got to try out for yourself..
age & kind of timbre used/pups configuration/neck..

iicr eric clapton got his early fenders frm a guitar pawnshop?
the guitar parts & stuffs were salvaged/mixed/matched to his preference..
again vaguely and correct me if im mistaken, one of them were given to stevie ray vaughn?
