hey softies,

im using a dimarzio tonezone t(stacked humbucker) for telecaster on the bridge.
and the standard stock fender pup on the neck.

so wat is a good neck pickup to match the output of the tonezone.
need recommendation. gfs pickups maybe?
need a good single coil neck pup to match...pls help...
thanx!

Neck tele single coil pickups tend to be weak sounding in nature, at least for me. Some players solve that by installing a neck humbucker for that fat neck pickup sound (Keith Richards, Albert Collins).

IMO, I used to have a GFS neck tele pickup and I only use that to combine with my bridge pickup. On its own, its kinda low output and unusable for me.

Or maybe u can consider a hot P90/Strat single coil at the neck, u have to make some cutting to the pickguard though. I think GFS sells pickguards for mounting a P90/Strat single coil at the neck.

weet! ^^^^

What sounds do you wanna get from your front pickup? Maybe from there you can go search for your sound.

I have a overwound Fralin there, and it suits what I do. Not very countrified but it works. It's a fantastic blues workhorse.

When you say heavy you mean for high-gain music?

I think P90s sound heavy but in a different way from most. It big and thick to me.

But I think for metal/heavy rock, no a P90 would not be the best choice. Great for classic rock though~

We believe the Area 58™ and Area 61™ are a major step forward in the performance of hum-cancelling Strat® replacement pickups. The new technology that went into these models has allowed us to make a similar advance with Telecaster® replacement pickups. The Area T™ Neck has the combination of clarity and warmth that Telecaster® players have always sought, and the new technology allows us to include a vintage Tele® cover with no sacrifice in sound quality or power.

Tech Talk: The contrast between a warm neck pickup tone and a biting bridge pickup sound is a Tele® hallmark, but it’s hard to achieve if the neck pickup is muddy. The Area T™ neck model has a very smooth tone, but its ability to remain clear even with heavy overdrive is an essential quality of Area design. The Area T™ was designed to work with 250K controls, but treble response and output can be increased by using 500K volume and tone controls or tweaked further with a 250K volume and the EP1202 1 Megohm tone control.

SO ..GET A dImARZIO AREA T NECK PICK UP

Currently, I am using the Fender Tele TC72 (humbuxker neck and single coil bridge).

I am thinking of going Keith Richard style, but would like to hear more suggestion...

This is how my Tele looks like . . .
