Tele Players & Their Thoughts

it's more meaningful replying here...

i can't help but think of the late Danny 'The Humbler' Gatton every time 'telecaster' is mentioned. if this is your first encounter with all things Danny Gatton, check out his outstanding 88 Elmira Street release & you'll here why Mr. Gatton is a master of his tool. i still enjoy the SImpsons track in there tremendously...

if you are old enough (like me), you'd remember this serial on tv 'TWIN PEAKS'- Danny wrote the tune for that one. respect...

Danny is a great player, check out a lot of Jimmy Page work which is on Tele's. Albert Collins etc etc. I just bought a new USA Deluxe with S-1 Switching-great guitar with Tele normal sounds but with aditional ability to series/parralel for a really fat sound. Well finished and with abalone inlays.
I swapped to Strats for afew years but after playing a few Tele's recently, Ihave now converted back to them-there i just a sound they get that no other guitar can get, try playing blues with a Tele though a TS9 -wow!

i'm trying to erase the tele-country association. the tele is good for anything & everything you throw at it, it's just a matter of acceptance. i know i love my tele to bits & it doesn't have a tinge of country to it either...

Theodore Robert Bundy a.k.a The Sorority killer, just a scare tactic i use to er, un-country my tele hard case 8)

nah... tele doesn't have more punch/ crunch than strat. i has a generic honk that the strat can't do. the strat on the other hand, twangs beyond the tele spectrum.

Tele Players & Their Thoughts..."I wish I had a strat"

Actually, I like sound of neck pickup in tele....better than strat but dunlike only 1 cutaway.

Thats interesting, for my part, I never liked the tele Neck and kept swapping it out for a strat Neck matched with a strat Middle.

Kinda like the image below except I had the guitar built in Thailand ( o yeah, and mine had the normal 3 saddle bridge unlike the one in the image).

JM, is that your Anderson or just a random pic? Is your custom made guitar by NNG? :D

Nope. Just a random photo.

I have a tele built by NNG in somewhat similar format except the neck is full maple and the bridge is a traditional tele style 3 saddle unit.

Other than that, it basically combines my favourite likes in a Tele and a Strat.

YMMV. :D

Besides Danny Gatton, don't forget other telemeisters like Roy Buchanan and Muddy Waters.

Thinking of building a Fiesta Red tele with Warmoth parts. Complete with Brazilian rosewood. Hee..

Nice choice of colour ... my 3 fav colours for teles are Desert Sunburst, Fiesta Red and Baby Soft Blue. :D

I was wondering how much are the American Teles costing? How do they compare to the Japanese Teles in terms of pups and hardware? Cheers.
