Technique to playing Metal

hey guys,

so i was learning Angel of Death and i was wondering if we need to palm mute the low E string. likewise Necrophiliac (also by Slayer) also has the same kinda thing.

and also..its kinda difficult to palm mute and then play a power chord and come back to palm muting at such a speed and o keep in time.. so any advice from the experts out there?

other than practise, another way to get use to it is utilising all 4 fingers

for this

A:--2-----------------------------3--|
E:--0--0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0--1--|

use the middle finger to fret the A string 2nd fret. When its time to switch to 3/1. Use your index and pinky to fret it.

For the 2nd part

|--3------------------------------4--|
|--1--0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0--2--|


3/1 can be fretted with index and ring finger, when its time to change to 4/2, use index and pinky.

Imho.

actually its possible to do it at such speed. like what kitty said PRACTICE.

angel of death is easy to play after awhile...

sit and practice just down strokes at lightning speeds everyday for hours and hours.
until you play with with the strain on your forearm.
