I am Full time metal head!! wooo!! metal nvr dies!
Personally i would love it(music) to be melodic!
It freaking gives me orgasm haha , i love power metal and melodic death basically i love any melodic shit!! melodic = sex = chocolate :D
Hmm so i was wondering if u people out there would prefer melody over it being techical or vice versa??

Not many bands can fusion these 2 together... local bands too hardly or maybe there is which i dun know of??
Any local bands wif Fusion of both melody and being extremely techincal?
Intro?

i dont know any local bands that do fusion but i do know of the human abstract.and i favour technicality a little more than melodic.its just me.

listen to absence of the sacred, they are somewhat melodic, but i dont know what is really "technical" to you, so i cant say

Aphelion used to pull it off very well. Melodic and technical. Damn good debut album... But I think they're off doing other stuff now... Think of them as the local Symphony X.

Don't agree- there are many very technical yet melodic bands too numerous to mention..
Dream Theatre, In Flames, Iron Maiden, Yngwie Malmsteen, Angra, etc. etc.

There need not be a choice as to whether you should be technical or melodic. Sure, many players (especially guitarists) focus *too much* on technique and remain blissfully unaware of melody and devoid of any melodic sensibility. There's no need to be like this, all yo need to do is make a conscious effort to try and create melodies and integrate your technical flash in while playing them. Same goes for players as individuals, and for bands.

I like technical more but I also like melodic. Hard to say, can't really say I prefer one over the other.. Cannibal Corpse (technical) and Arch Enemy (melodic) are both my favourites.

Can't quite stand metalcore though...

I love technical metal like Necrophagist, Decapitated. I love melodic like In Flames, Arch Enemy. But my favourite band is Opeth. Not very technical, but melodic.

Not really la. Dream Theater has a high level of technicality & virtuso. Many people like them. You need Technique to make Music but Technique alone is not Music.
