TC Electronics... Sneaky sneaky...

This year's NAMM would be pretty awesome for pedals. Malekko will be coming out with 8 new pedals including the 919, theres this new TC line, Red Witch Seven Sisters and then the Strymon Lex. Its a year for compact pedals haha.

By just looking at the technical specs I'd prefer the 919 cos of the more practical tap-tempo but the flashback sounds really good.

EDIT: Just saw found some vids for the other pedals in the line.

@wck: hah what gives man they have vids for all the other pedals in the line but the reverb! GRRR

lol and what on earth were u up at 3am gawking at tgp? dont need slp ah u?!

Yeah, thats pretty funny. Have every video but the verb.. Hope they come up with the vid soon, not too interested in the dirt and modulation pedals honestly.. Wonder how much they'll cost tho, I have a feeling they'll be at least USD200.

Haha, I was working on my friend's bass till quite late and stumbled on the Malekko and TC threads. I notice the dark matter is kinda noisy but the dude hides it pretty well lol.

Some guy on TGP is putting out price lists on the thread it's under 200usd mostly with the reverb being the most costly at 179usd. Most of the others he says are $129?

Yea the dirt pedals are QUITE sucky lol.

But the reverb pedal is really got me on the edge, looking to replace my verbzilla with something thats 9v (100mA), and does the shimmer thing! =) and the price tag on this will definitely be more pocket friendly than the Eventide Space, which clearly lists shimmer =/

Wa quite cheap ah.. Expected them to be more ex cos of all the features and the artist endorsements or whatever. If the flashback is about USD129 then theres not much point in getting a MXR CC/ ekko 616 haha. Although I'm not too convinced with the strum thingy on the flashback which is why the 919 is kinda tempting.. The diffusion and limiter makes it damn good for swells and high feedback but its one power hog (500mA)

Yeah, dark matter is noisy and the mojo is kinda fizzy. I've got enough dirt alr anw.. Yeah the verb will also be pedalboard friendly, don't need to get a bluesky/ eventide/ whatever rack unit just for the shimmer anymore.

Oh he listed the flashback 169usd. lol

eh... not sure if this reverb does the shimmer. doesn't really list it, i'm hoping that the ambient mode = shimmer. but tts quite unlikely grr.

Get the bluesky or keep your verbzilla lor.. The knobs are shitty tho. Maybe the ambient mode is just a modulated, long decay verb only haha.

169 is still reasonable.. Its just 20 more than the CC. To me its kind of better than delays like the CC/ 616 but below stuff like the nova/ DD-20/ Timefactor this is just feature-wise of course. Its a good gap to cater to.

Haha I'll check that out for sure.. This year's NAMM is pretty hardcore for the pedal market, so many new ones coming up but surprisingly I haven't seen any new and original concepts yet.

The flashback delay looks and sounds good for the price but the lack to tap tempo and the audio tapping feature is quite a turn off. So I'm supposed to press the switch for two secs and strum the tempo while my output is muted? Try doing that during a song with a mid tempo change...Thats a real deal breaker for me.

I thought the range of sounds, 40s looper and the small footprint was killer, but im sticking to my DD7.

Yeah that was what made me not wana get it. There isn't even a light to tell you when to start tapping which really sucks if all you have is a couple of seconds to get in tempo.

Yeah, I think that strumming to achieve the tempo will only apply if that will be same tempo that you'll going to use for the whole song. It may suck but can be useful for others... BUT the 40secs looping is insane! This is GAS.
