Hey softies!!

just asking... anyone owns this guitar (Taylor K24CE)?
Looking around for reviews cause i'm really interested in its exotic looks. But of course the sound matters too... soooo... if you own one please provide your insights?!

thankssss! :)

Tried a K20 before. Koa is a nice tonewood for guitars. IMO you have to be a Taylor fan to like this guitar. Has that signature bright Taylor sound with a tad bit warmer compared to say a Taylor 7 series. Overall a good guitar but the price tag sure scares me. I wouldn't really say you get what you pay for in this case but being a Taylor K series, it sure feels like driving a BMW 5 series. That's what I feel about the K series of Taylor guitars.

thanks for replying!
hmmm, would the switch from ovation to a taylor be a very drastic change in tone?
hmm.. yeah. the price is a little steep, that's why i would love to try the guitar before making a decision... haha..

very drastic. Ovation sounds a tad bit thin when unplugged but the neck and body contours make the guitar comfortable which I feel that is the selling point for Ovation guitars. The Taylor Koa series look awesome. Those flames are unreal man. My opinion? try the other taylors from the 7 Series onwards and compare. I prefer Spruce for my top wood but Flamed Koa is definitely tempting.

Taylors are good guitars that's for sure but not my kinda sound. I prefer Martins. HD-28 especially but of course, my preference is heavy bass response.

Btw maybe you can tell us your preference for sound and we can try suggesting other models to consider.

overall construction is different already. even in terms volume, the Taylor would most likely swallow the Ovation whole. not that ovation is a bad guitar, it sounds great plugged in. what ShredAddict said is right, try out a range of Taylors before succumbing to the beauty of the Taylor K series.
