Isnt much on the web about it, but has anyone tried out this signature snare?

Whats its tone like?

and the pricing.

no la, im quite open to pearl, yamaha, dw(LOL)$$$$
and those other brands.

But tama designs are really funky. Though i prefer wood finishes or sparkly finishes.

than choose pdp. They have a really extensive finishes and made from all maple wood. though it's lower grade quality maple, it's still beats phillipines mahogany which in actual is not mahogany at all...

read this:

Mahogany:

True mahogany from USA or Honduras will have about a 20% increase in low frequency resonance over the maple drum, mid and high frequencies will be the same from a reproduction point of view, but because the Mahogany has the 20% low end increase, the perceived tone is warmer. Certain deep red timbers from South East Asia are sold as a 'Mahogany', or 'Mahogany Finish' although they are not true Mahogany from USA or Honduras. It’s most likely called mahogany due either its common appearance (dark red) or due to the nature of the forestation being depleted and the stigma attached to it. Asian 'Philippine Mahogany' is often sourced from the endangered Dipterocarp forests of Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. Dependant on the source tree the timber types are often known as Meranti, Lauan and Keruing. Hence the name Philippine mahogany. The species known as Khaya Nyasica or African mahogany are more plentiful yet still endangered and therefore, not plentiful at this time.

AHHHH... MY SUGGESTION, is not to get orange county or CUSTOM DRUM COMPANIES that uses keller shells...

they charge exorbitantly for their names and finishes u can get from keller straight... and keller prices their shells individually REALLY super cheap..

but shipping would be a killer so buy ready local imports..

i want something like 14x5 or 14x4 something not so deep. and like with a hella sexy finish, favourite would be sparkly pearl, or any wood laquer finishes!

yum!

the finish u don't really need to care much, what's important is the sound ur looking for.........

diff wood, diff sound.... head also makes diff sound...

pearl has good snares, tama has good snares, DW has good snares and finishes too since it's custom.. and they make their own shells...

so DW's the way to go... an all maple snare from ranking gonna cost u about 850 with reinforcement rings.. - i think.. go ranking ask.

There are 2 snares in the Sale section that are still in my mind - Think they haven't sold yet - might wanna check those out.

I remember there was a beautiful DW maple, and a Ludwig classic maple.

thanks.

Big shoutout to fu-man aka drumhobbyist who came down to teach me how to tune my drums, and gave me some great advice!

Thanks brother!
