Tacoma DM9 with high action and a saddle which cannot be lowered further. Diagnosis - neck angle has shifted and needs a neck reset.
Neck is taken out after heating up the fingerboard extension.
Surfaces to be cleaned up. The job was made relatively easy due to the clean removal
To alter the neck angle, I scribed the area of the heel to be removed ( see arrows ). A chisel was used to trim the heel area.
After refining with sandpaper, the heel-body joint is tight with no gap (pic on right)
The action of the guitar is good again. Action is 1.6 mm on the treble and 2.1mm on the bass (at 12 fret).
