Synthesia

Anyone here plays "Synthesia" aka "Piano Hero"...It is something like guitar hero but keyboard is used. I am a tech noob, trying to set up my computer and keyboard for the game..
Must I buy a MIDI keyboard? My Yamaha PSR340 has a midi output...maybe I will buy a cable and use it to play

no need for dedicated midi controller keyboard.
as long as the keyboard is midi capable.
