Mentioning this genre, many would immediately think about Dimmu Borgir. And er... Cradle of Filth (in my opinion, i'll rule them out)

But what they do need to know is that, Dimmu Borgir is just 1 band out of a 100 (or more) more which definitely in my opinion sound better.

I'm sure Evilshit will praise me for I'm going to mention these 2 bands,
Chthonic and Anthelion.
Both hail from Taiwan, and for once, i feel that I'm listening to the right kind of chinese music.

I'm new to the band, and really enjoyed their stuff... For 5 years without album, it looks quite likely that they've disbanded.

anorexia is a pretty good band. their status on metal archives is "on hold". lets wait and see if they will come out with any good stuff in the future.

dude i gotta agree with u...honestly i've started listening to Chthonic not long ago, but i seriously have to say that their musicianship could match up to those western bands that we usually hear or even i would say surpass them...realli impress with the fact that they haf an erhu player in the band...seriously rock

It sounds quite identical to me in some way...

I love anorexia nervosa. you know the french really does produce quite a number of good black metal bands, like deathspell omega, eternal majesty, the LLN etc.

well, i guess, melodic death metal has much much more palm muting and the solos are usually much more complex and more difficult. melodic black usually sticks to tremolo picking without the palm mute technique.

Go listen to Wintersun and Naglfar.

The differences should be really audible.
