Sweep picking...

for the ultimate sweep picking lesson, try 'Serrana' by the sweep-god Jason Becker.

And what poo says is right, sweeping gets very easy once you get the hang of it. You don't even have to practice much to maintain your sweeping chops.

hmm..so it varies with the individual.
I find that picking is the technique that needs the most practice to maintain.

I wouldn't exactly call him a sweep god. Phenomenal during his time, but now the sweeping scene's been overtaken by the likes of Rusty Cooley and Francesco Fareri. Check them out if you haven't heard of them yet. Lessons + soundclips on their websites as well. It can be an eye opener for those who don't know :D

Hey, I'm a shred geek, how would I not know them? Lol!
I call Becker a god because his sweeping, although technical, made sense within the context of the song, and had great melody. Which is the whole point of music isn't it?

Best sweeping technician IMO is Frank Gambale. My jaw dropped when I saw some of his powertabs....

hi Vern..
I believe Dhalif had replied for me ..thanks Dhalif bro
well i commended that becoz thats how i learn to sweep...hehe

i like to suggest also learning Disciples of Hell(malmsteen) for arp excercise..
ofcourse there are others that string skip to get the sweeping tone.

Anyway i agree with Vaiyen on Frank sweeping technique..
its difficult to me (At least) coz his tone and the way he sweep the notes..
just find it amazing.. super clean...
