stuck in the middle: ibanez RD 605 vs MIJ Fender JB75-90US

but at least they're teaching them GOOD StuFf. look where japan is in the industry of technology, music and design. (and all other stuff)

most of the stuff taught to us until sec4 is... well... i'm only using 50% of the math, 40% of the science and 30% of everything else.

whatever happened to apprenticeship stuff?

i have used the word STUFF 4 times in one post. stuffY!

. . . . . . i dont particularly find it interesting. . .

we make racial jokes with our friends when we're teenagers, then when u become adults it becomes taboo. and the government says "every race is the same" and all that stuff. you must be brainwashed! hahaha

I happen to read abt the JB 75-90US too the ashwood is like woo... Never tried playing ash wood before. So tempted to get my hands on that bass too but how much is the shipping like? Just wondering never ordered online before haha.

well estimated price before shipping is S$1000, shipping 1 piece by itself would cost about S$ 200, if u join the MO that might be happening soon, u might only pay a fraction of that shipping cost.

yea.

@tim1002

ishibashi are really friendly if you are serious in getting ANYTHING. if theres >5 people , they will give discounts on both shipping + price , if <5 , they will normally give discount on shipping only.

makes more sense to have 5 go at a shot.

general rule of thumb here. once quoted them an order of like 7 guitars/basses, they quoted me a nice price + discount on shipping. asked for 2 basses and they are willing to slash only 2,000 yen off the shipping for each, which works out to about $30 bucks.

and remember, web-shop means you pay the smaller price indicated in the ishibashi pages, not the bigger price. the bigger price indicates the 5% consumer tax that the japanese have to pay.

oh yea tim, heres a tip. U-box isnt updated regularly. some of the items there can be sold off or held on hold for another customer. best way to find out stuff is to

1) email them with the bass you are looking for. give specifics. or tell them you saw something like e.g US G&L L-2000, sunburst, 2002 model e.g, but you cannot find the thing on U-box now even though you saw it just couple of days ago. unethical but effective. they will usually search through their SALES database and dig up the postings still present and avaliable and exclude those on hold.

2) be wary of U-box. ishibashi claims -no responsibility, - no refund/exchange(the latter albiet availiable but at prices which you might choke and literally die from your venom at their absurdity, PM me to find out more). - DUBIOUS quality involved as the sales staff at HQ web-shop are merely processing online orders and actually do not even handle the bass that you might be buying ( used-goods are located at ishibashi's 6 outlets japan wide)

3) if you wanna try U-box, u might wanna try yahoo japan auctions and use one of those concierge service buying services/proxy bidders.

-cheaper, same risk and yahoo-japan auctions actually has quite a good deal of interesting stuff to look at.

another great site to possibly try to look see and get via V-post japan would be www.rockinn.co.jp . their prices for imported guitars are > ishibashi's in general.

small hands ---> RD

quality wise i think the fender should be better. ibanez may mess up on certain occasions... my rd500 got a loose truss rod... so there's a fret buzz on e string 2nd fret. which apparently can't be fixed. tho it doesnt' appear on the amp. i'm partially to blame cause i bought mine 50% off...
:roll:

hope it comes in handy

hey guys, i've firmly decided on the Fender, but right now i'm adding stuff to the list... thinking of either a JUNO-D (Roland) or OZONE (M-Audio) and some of my friends will be jumping into the order... lemme know if any of you are interested in the stuff ishibashi offers k!
