Streaming

The three most popular streaming codecs are Real audio, Windows Media and MP3. Internet radios normally use Windows media and Real Audio, while online distributors use MP3. Can anyone tell me which is really better for streaming music on the net?

IMHO, MP3 would be the best of the three.

Followed by Real Audio and WMA, almost at the same place.

Though, MP3 is also the largest of the three (file size), so I usually like to use WMA as 95% of PCs are of the Windoze-type.

ACtually OGG has the best compression of the lot, i think about a third + of mp3s. It´s an open standard as opposed to mp3s, which is probably why no one manufacturer wants to support it in this market.
