Straplocks

Hey people just ordered a dean guitar

First time using straplocks and im unsure how to fit my strap onto the lock.. Like are you supposed to remove the fat round thing first then put the strap on? cause if so i cant remove it or rather am oblivious how to.. Anyone teach please?

Btw if its due to the strap size do let me know,

And in case the type of straplock well im not sure of its name. Just came together with my new Dean Dave Mustaine's Siganture VMNT Angel Of Deth..

usually the part that attaches to the strap can break into 2 sections, one is the screw and plunger together, and the other is the washer (large round disc) and retainer for securing the lock to the strap. it's simple really, just push the screw through the hole in the middle of the plunger, and then through the strap's hole so that the screw is sticking out the other side, then slide the washer through the screw and secure it, so that the lock doesn't drop out.
