Storing Guitars in Hardcase

Hi guys,

Will be going army soon, gonna assume I won't be able to touch my guitars for a short period of time (confinement and stay in and all the stuff).

Just wondering, in your opinion, do all the hardcase 'protect' the guitars as well?

Say a 80 bucks stratocaster-shaped hardcase VS. an original Fender Tweed hardcase.

Price wise, huge difference. Any inputs? Thanks in advance.

drop the tuning 1/2 step.
and best way is to store the hardcases standing up.
couple of my guitars have been in there for 6 months or more with no probs.

why upright may i ask? seems like a dangerous proposition cause if the hardcase is knocked and it topples...

So any kind of hardcase works? Even for the cheapest one in local stores?

so there is no downward pressure, apart from the detuned strings, on the neck at all.
and the way i store my cases, there is no way they can be knocked over.
