Storing Guitars here

Hi guys, just wonderin how do you guys store your guitars. I've heard that high humidity can damage your pickups and guitar overall, so is it really a good idea to leave your guitar on a stand during the day here in Singapore instead of in a case? Do you think its ok to leave it out in an air-conditioned room overnight? Just something i wanted to know before i might do something stupid to possibly damage my guitar. Thanks

Personally my most valuable guitar is in a hardcase surrounded with dehumidifiers. My not-so-important guitar is sitting around on a stand in my room, also with dehumidifiers.

I heard it's not good to go straight from an air con room into singapore's crazy weather, as moisture will condense under the pickguard, around the circuitory and stuff and happily eat away at your guitar.

That's all I know.

I hang them up on my bedroom wall like this ^^

As you can see, the only thing that's between the guitars and the ground is my bed and me *lol*

Actually, I'm wondering...whether will hanging the guitars like this damage/weaken the neck joints in the long term? :?

My own thoughts are that weather conditions are not so extreme as temperate countries where seasonal temperature flunctuations cause havoc to solid-body guitars left in the open.

I think once an electric guitar is settled in our Spore climate, is given a proper setup, all things unchanged, it should not be too affected by our climate.

Acoustic guitars are possibly quite different.

Apart from most of our personal observations, a luthier (Malcolm are u there?) would be the most credible person to advise on this issue.
