hey not too sure if anyone asked before, but does anyone know a safe method to remove stickers pasted on a guitar? safe = no scratches or any gum left on the body

perfume does the trick too. And your axe will smell great too
Just remember not to scratch too hard on stubborn gum marks that might cause scratching. Good Luck!
You're asking cause u bought the Emily LP? Hehe

:)

Hmmm....I'm not sure about perfume with alchol content. It might take a little colour off. As sales people always tell me to keep perfume off my accessories and watches.

Turn your guitar upside down so that the sticker faces the floor. Take a lighter and run the flame lightly over the sticker. Do not let the flame go out of the sticker boundary and hit the guitar body surface! Then just peel off the sticker with ease! Voila!

Your username and advice go hand in hand. :D

lighter fluid as in dismantle a lighter and use the fluid inside?

haha and yeah got the emily lp. my first lp, loving the thick and fat sound from it. not too sure if i wanna get the stickers off, just find out the alternatives first.

thanks for the replies!

no, lighter fluids as in zippo lighter fluids, the ones that smell like petrol. The cheap ones cost around 2 bucks in neighbourhood stores.

Ha ha! Yeah ... you're kinda right. Anyway.... I've used the flame technique on virtually any surface and it works 99% of the time. Avoid anything with alcohol in it! It's gonna ruin your guitar surface gloss finish! Please!

you dont have to dismantle a lighter.those lighters are gas inside not fluid.if you want use zippo lighter fluid, they go for about 2-3 bucks a can.
i used it on a fender strat that i owned to remove a sticker i pasted on it.works well.
just pour abit onto the guitar and then use a pick to scratch it out.

to remove it, im nt that sure.

but, after you take out the sticker, if there is still gum, use nail polish remover to remove it.

my ipod had alot of gum on it. and i use my sis nail polish remover and cotton to remove the gum.

cheapest and most effective way to remove stickers would be to use WD40. after removing the sticker and sticky remains, you could use lighter fluid to remove the excess oil.

removing sticker.

WD40 works well if you wanna remove sticker stains. I played RC car before, really great to remove some stains and stickers. It will not damage your surfaces. Cheers!
