Starlight Records presents: The Search

The Search is an online competition for solo / duo artists and bands from all corners of world! All entrants will be reviewed by Starlights professional A & R team for representation regardless of placement in the competition.

Early Pricing ($5USD through Sonicbids) will run from 2nd April 2013 to 30th May 2013 and regular pricing ($10USD) will run from 30th May 2013 to 29th July 2013.

40 slots are reserved for Sonicbids artists: 20 solo/duo and 20 bands.

The two winners (one solo / duo and one band) will have a brand new song mixed and mastered and released internationally to both radio (35,000 stations in 100 countries) and digital distribution through the largest distributor in the world.

Winners will also receive a website and a mobile app to help raise their international profile. The website and mobile app fees will be paid for for the first 6 months by the promoter. All finalists (semi and grand) will earn income through royalty splits and distribution based upon level of success in the competition.

Just wondering why should bands pay for attending the competition? That's not fair for the bands and sounds like some one is just gathering revenue for themselves and making sure that there is no risk doing this competition. Organisers usually take the risk of these type of events.

It's a way to screen non-serious competitors. Based on the value of the prize, the entrance fee is more than reasonable – besides, artists have the potential to earn income through competing.

However, for a limited time the fee has been dropped so entrance is currently free
