Spliiting of Music Kopitiam

I think a lot of us have noticed that the Music Kopitiam is becoming WAY too overcrowded.

We've got people talking about all sorts of topics from bands, politics, music trends, school work and results, fashion, etc. Sometimes, it is hard to separate what is music-related and what is not.

I propose that perhaps we split up the Music Koptiam into two sections:
Please note that the names are just names I came up with. If this idea is ever implemented, it is up to James to decide to call it what he wants

Music Underground:
A place where everyone can talk about music in GENERAL, where it wouldn't fit in the other sections. We can talk about bands, performances, music trends, etc. The only pre-requisite is that it has to be related with MUSIC

Kopitiam:
Like all kopitiam uncles who sit around at the bse of my house, they all talk about EVERYTHING and ANYTHING. So, if you want to talk about School/Social Issues/What you saw/Opinions/etc., as long as it DOES NOT FIT INTO the other sections of the whole forum.

In this way, at least it would be more cleaner and easier for us to search and reply

Think we may have been through this... before Music Kopitiam, it was called Kopitiam. Then too many non-music related threads were started, and James wanted to keep SOFT focused on music, so he put Music in the title.

somehow i think even putting the music in it hadn't really changed the fact that there are too many non-music related threads in there. hence, the proposal

it's kinda sian to keep seeing non-music related threads in there. so if we can seperate it than at least it'll be much better for all

what i don't understand is how an increase in traffic in the music kopitiam does not translate into increased traffic in the other, 'musician' subforums. and at the same time, the amount of crap in the music kopitiam thread is increasing.

but i'm not suggesting any correlation though 8)

yea there rly is too much crap in the music kopitiam. to find a thread you'll have to thrawl thru like... 3 pages worth of threads la, just to find the thread u saw 24 hours ago. aiyo
